Artistic Director Julie Moffatt is a graduate of Wheelock College in Boston, MA and holds a B.S. in Education with minors in music and theatre. Her dance training began with Sandra Simpson Philpott at the age of seven and continued with other teachers through her graduation from college. Formerly a public school teacher, Julie opened Atlantic Studios of Dance Education in the fall of 1980. She is an active member of Dance Teachers' Club of Boston and has served on the DTCB Board of Directors as Membership Examining Chair for over seventeen years.

She also is an active member of Dance Masters of America. Both organizations require extensive examination for membership. Over the years, she has studied with nationally renowned dance professionals, and she conducts Master Dance Classes for dance instructors in the Boston area. Julie is also her Class Reunion Coordinator for the Wheelock College Alumni Association, and is very active in both the Milton and Quincy communities in which Atlantic Studios of Dance Education is located.
