In the fall of 1980, after several years of teaching children in both dance and academic settings, Julie Moffatt founded Atlantic Studios of Dance Education. The first spring performance was a simple demonstration with about sixty students on the old Milton High School stage in Milton, MA. The studio was located in North Quincy and served students from Quincy, Milton, Dorchester and Braintree. This studio has since been moved to the Wollaston neighborhood of Quincy. When enrollment increased over the next few years, an additional location was necessary to accommodate all of the students, so in the fall of 1995, Julie opened her second studio location in East Milton. Because the studios are located less than a mile apart, all students have the luxury of studying easily at either place. |
